Okay, here's the guitar with the broken file removed and strung up! (The guitar, not the file!)!

Sweet is that a OLF SJ if so you did the same cutaway I use. bigger softer radius. a lot safer to bendMichaelP38875.7130671296

Very nice, except, of course, the cutaway is on the wrong side. Probably fix it with a file.

Good news!

Now if you'd be so kind as to divulge your methods for file extraction.....

Don, it's a Lefty!

Russell, the "X" signifies the 10th guitar I started...a couple were finished and delivered in the meantime...

Michael, it is an OLF SJ, and I did wimp out a bit on the cutaway just to be safe...

Old, haven't you heard? I busted my file!

Burb, I went with the upper caul with a hole in it, glued a chunk of ebony with a depression to catch the file end onto a deep throat clamp, said a short prayer, and put the squeeze to it...sounded like a cannon going off when it popped out...got my inspection mirror and checked the innards to make sure that the file was the only thing that came loose!

I still reckon Dynamite would have been faster. Great guitar Larry, glad you were able to overcome the problem.

Serge, slap it open-handed on the right side, then the left, feet spread about shoulder width apart...

Larry--we raise our glass to your success!
If this had been my problem, I'm fairly certain the end of the file would have shot straight up, then come straight back down. Leaving an irreparable ding in the top, of course. Sort of an "Out of the frying pan and into the fire" scenario.

Glad yours worked out so well!

Mike, let me put those up when the pro photo guy gets a hold of it...this was a very quick and very dirty one with a cheapo camera just to show that there's no file stuck in the bridge!

I don't think your a wimp. I think great minds think a like. It is the right curve to fit the rest of the body shape.

That's our story and were sticking to it
